so I bought another emperor scorpion but this time I did more research on their behavior. also i bought a baby scorpion this time and they are defiantly which are more aggressive due to their small size. i use to have three in one tank: a pregnant female an two others. it seems they are very solitary as adults because 3 scorpions soon be came only one alive in my tank. I didn't know that they are burrowing creatures and really like to be hidden a lot. watching him/her eat mealworms,crickets, or giant grasshoppers is awesome to me. I've own fish, dogs, cats, turtles, snakes, i think i like animals more than people some time.
I bought some plantation soil which you can add water to increase humidity which the scorpion seems to appreciate. hopefully i will keep this one alive for a long time, they can live up to 9 years
Those things sound really scary. I had a friend who would find scorpions just crawling around the garage. I never went to visit. Lol.
ReplyDeleteI like strange pets to. I never had a scorpion but have looked at them many times. I had a savannah monitor was really cool as well. good luck with the scorpion
ReplyDeleteWow! I was like is this title just to draw attention, but no you seriously own scorpions. That is so cool. I also agree with liking animals more than people. However i don't own any exotic pets. My brothers once had a snake and my sister had a hamster. Other than that just the same old cats and dogs. I did read though online about this snake in south Florida that stopped eating and would stretch out on its owners bed. When the pets owner brought it to the vet because of the concern that it wasnt eating the vet told the couple that they needed to get rid of the snake immediately because it was preparing to eat THEM!!! It stopped eating to make room and was stretching on the bed to see if it was long enough to consume them. So, needless to say I am not fond of anything other than cats and dogs due to that reason. I commend you for having the guts to own scorpions though.
